Materializes through periodic conversations (generally weekly or monthly depending on the type of challenge, urgency and approach of the professional) where the coach, through questions and provocations, supports you on your journey with the aim of helping you help you do what you want to do and achieve the goals you want to achieve. There are many variations on the macro structure of a coaching process, but generally it has three major stages: (1) understanding in the present moment, which includes self-knowledge and reflection on the circumstances surrounding the coachee; (2) the definition of the destination, that is, the desired situation and its resulting consequences; and finally (3) the construction of the path that takes the coachee from the present moment to the desired situation, with the respective decisions and actions. Once this tripod is established, it may happen that the coachee wants to follow the journey alone, implementing what was defined with the support of the coach, but this is generally not what happens, as one of the biggest challenges in a change process is not the theoretical definition of what to do, but mainly, the meeting of theory with reality and the ability to overcome the practical obstacles that arise along the way.

So, the most common and recommended thing is that step three mentioned above continues until the coachee feels confident that they have managed to move the plans from theory to practice. And more than that, move in a consistent and Japan Email List  stable manner. And this is very important, because I have seen situations in which the coachee even manages to do what he intended to do once (or a few times) and starts to believe that “he has already gotten there” . It is not uncommon that after abandoning the process, he gradually returns to previous behavior patterns until he completely loses the achievements he had made. This does not mean that the coaching process should continue indefinitely, as this also does not prove to be productive. I emphasize that the idea is to ensure that the new behavior is stably established in the coachee's daily life.

How to identify a good coach? If you have concluded that you need a coach for the journey you are trying to undertake and identify with the process described, the next step is to find a coach who meets your expectations. And there is nothing safer than receiving a recommendation from someone you trust and who has gone through a coaching process with a specific professional. Find out, among the people you know, who has already been through a coaching process and ask for recommendations. This is the first step, but it is essential to go further. Complement this indication with a verification of credentials: education, experience and certifications. Training ensures that the professional is based on a set of consistent knowledge and good practices. See which institution trains the coach and their credentials. Experience is a good indicator of the coach’s ability to put what they have learned into relevant practice.
